It's true that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Starting off with a healthy and nutritious breakfast nourishes us with the energy we need to make it through the day. Here are three delicious breakfast recipes made out of oats, cereal and pancakes.
The first recipe is a classic Oats Porridge. All you need to make this is one cup of oats, a pinch of salt and two cups of water. Put the oats and salt in a saucepan and pour in the water. Cook for five to seven minutes over medium heat, stirring regularly, until the water has been absorbed and the mixture thickens. You can also use milk or combine half-and-half for a creamier version. Serve the cooked porridge with some of your favorite toppings such as nuts, fruits, and honey.
The next recipe on our list is a French Toast Cereal. Start by whisking together two eggs and 2/3 cup of milk. Dip a slice of bread in the mixture and place it in a preheated skillet. Let it cook for two minutes on each side until it's golden-brown. To make a cereal, top your French Toast with some fresh berries and some granola. Sprinkle with sugar and drizzle it with some maple syrup to complete the dish.
Our last delicious recipe is a stack of fluffy Pancakes. Whisk together two cups of all-purpose flour, two teaspoons of baking powder, one teaspoon of baking soda, one/two teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of cinnamon. In a separate bowl, mix together one and a half cups of milk, one egg, two tablespoons of melted butter and two tablespoons of sugar. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Heat a pan to a medium-high heat and grease it with a bit of butter. Then, slowly pour a scoop of the pancake batter onto the pan and cook for two to three minutes. Flip when the top is bubbling and golden. Serve with your favorite topping such as honey, nut butter, whipped cream, or fresh fruits. These simple yet delicious recipes prove that the first meal of the day is truly the most important. Make sure to start your day off with a nutritious, energizing breakfast.
